The Fukuoka City Public Library and all branch libraries (with the exception of the Fukuoka Hakata Library) will close from December 28 (Wed), 2011 through January 4 (Wed), 2012 for the New Year holidays. Because of construction work on its building, the Fukuoka Hakata Library will be closed from December 26 (Mon) through January 4 (Wed). The Fukuoka City Gender Equality Promotion Center Library will close from December 27 (Tue) through January 3 (Tue).
Due to the closing of libraries for the New Year holiday, due dates for library material checked out between December 14 (Wed) and December 27 (Tue) will be extended as follows:

Please note:
- All libraries close on December 19 (Mon) and January 26 (Mon)
- If library material was checked out from the Fukuoka Hakata Library on December 13 (Tue), the due date will be January 5 (Thu).
- While libraries are closed, please return library material by using the book deposit slots.
- Videos, DVD, CD or cassette tapes cannot be returned using book deposit slots. Such library material must be returned to the counter of the Video Library of the Fukuoka City Public Library (main library).
